Frequently asked questions

What's the point of PlateHate?

The author, being the cynical type who believes that any calls to a "how's my driving" hotline would be promptly answered by a spotty automaton, thought that maybe the perfect place to vent their rage would be on the Internet. Where people actually care*.

How do I know if my number plate was added?

You can search for it on the homepage, but we also offer an RSS feed that can be setup to only deliver entries for your plate. You can click on the orange RSS icon on a plate's page, or use the RSS feed builder to setup a personalised feed.

I added a number plate but can't see it it?

All entries are moderated before appearing. They don't take long to turn up (as long as you adhered to the posting rules).

I found my number plate on here and I'm not happy!

Maybe you should be a little more considerate when you're driving your vehicle?

Joking aside, if you're particularly sensitive to us having your number plate, drop an email to plates AT platehate DOT eu and we'll permanantly remove the entry. If it gets added again we'll continue to block it.

How will writing some text help me vent my frustration? I want to punch someone over the internet.

You need to relax a bit. Road rage isn't good for anyone, least of all the rest of the drivers who may be affected by you doing something stupid to counter what just happened to you. Take a deep breath, take some consolation that you're a better driver than the moron in the X5, and have a rant here. It'll make you feel better.
